About Viera
It takes special talent and hard work to grow a dream. In 1912, Andrew Duda brought these attributes, along with his family, from Czechoslovakia to Central Florida.
The small celery farm that Mr. Duda began there grew into one of the world's largest and most respected family-owned agricultural enterprises, A. Duda & Sons, Inc.
Now Mr. Duda's descendants are using their talent and effort to create a master planned community, the New Town of Viera. In the native tongue of Mr. Duda, Viera has a special meaning. Viera is a Slovak word meaning "faith." It was chosen by the Duda family for this beautiful new community because it embodies the family's heritage and evokes visions of the future.
Starting with the dream in the early 1980s, the family established The Viera Company to develop a master planned community that would be built with faith, integrity, and thoughtful stewardship of the land -- a community that would exceed the quality of life values sought by its new residents.
Viera has attracted more than 16,020 residents and consists of 6,817 beautiful homes.
Viera will eventually encompass 38,000 acres centered around a vibrant town center. The surrounding communities will be filled with wildlife habitats, golf courses, conservation areas, lakes, miles of nature trails, and recreational parks.
