Rockledge, FL, February 15, 2006, - Heritage Isle community was recognized as among the "best of the best" in the seniors housing industry with an Innovation Award by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The awards were presented during the 2006 Best of Seniors Housing Awards ceremony held Jan. 11 in conjunction with the International Builders' Show in Orlando, Fla.
Heritage Isle is a 478-acre age restricted master planned community located in Viera, Brevard County Florida. The Heritage Isle community design includes The Heritage Isle Club and 8 residential villages plus the condominium neighborhood under construction along the Duran Golf Club. The Heritage Isle Club is the premiere club in Brevard County opening its doors for business on March 1, 2006. The 21,000 sq. ft. building is the largest clubhouse in Brevard and will house facilities and rooms for fitness, cards, pool tables, hobbies, conference/library, computer stations, catering kitchen, aerobics, ballroom, administration and multi-purpose flex rooms. Adjacent to the Club is a resort style pool, tennis courts, croquet lawn, basketball, bocce and horseshoes.
The NAHB 50+ Housing Council, which has promoted excellence in the 50+ housing industry for the past 14 years, presented 132 gold and silver awards in 58 categories to current and on-the-boards projects from across the United States and as far away as Japan. Design categories covered a range of product types such as active adult, aging in place, assisted living, continued-care retirement community, for-sale condominiums, rental apartments, and renovated seniors housing. Winners were also honored for excellence in marketing strategies focused on the mature market. Nine Innovation Awards were presented to projects that demonstrated extraordinary creativity and insight.
A 13-member panel of architects, builders, designers, marketing professionals, and universal design specialists judged the projects on innovative architecture, interior design, merchandising, marketing, and how effectively they responded to the housing demands of the burgeoning 50+ market. Marketing categories focused on brochures, advertising campaigns, sales centers, and special promotions.
